Rob Poyton is an author, martial arts instructor and musician. Born in East London in the 60s, from an early age he was a keen on books and music. He joined his first band in the early 80s, about the same time that he began his formal martial arts training. After a stint as a “trainee rock star” he focused on the martial arts, opening his own school in the mid-90’s. During his martial arts career he has been a prolific writer. In 2017 he decided to turn his hand to his love of horror, fantasy and science fiction. The result was Remnants, a collection of ghost stories set in the East Anglia Fens where he lived for most of the 90s. Robert now lives in rural North Bedfordshire and continues to teach martial arts in the UK and across Europe, as well as being involved in various music projects. In his spare time he tends the numerous chickens now resident at the bottom of the garden.
